What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Worker position at DJ Stephens Farms LLC?
Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, track-hoes, forklifts, flat-bed trucks, and passenger trucks. Non-CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Manual duties include but are not limited to loading seed into planters; changing combine cutting heads; moving, attaching, and detaching equipment; and using hand tools in fields; welding; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, structures, buildings, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; mowing and landscaping around the farm; inventory management of seed, parts, tools, etc.; and lifting items as needed. Duties also include receiving crop for drying at grain storage facility; disposing of spoiled grain; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; and shoveling grain. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
