What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at DJ's Grocery and Variety?
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking person to fill our bakery position.
Duties:
- Prepare and bake a variety of bakery products, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies
- Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques
- Follow recipes and ensure the quality and consistency of baked goods
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure proper cooking
- Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies
- Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Package baked goods for display or sale
Skills: preferred but not required - we will train.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Experience in pastry and cake decorating techniques
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food production processes and techniques
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong knife skills for slicing and preparing ingredients
