As part of our continued growth, we are looking to hire an enthusiastic and driven Automotive Apprentice to join our team.

Job Description:
As an Automotive Apprentice at Dixons Automotive Repair, you will work alongside experienced mechanics to develop and refine your skills in automotive repair and maintenance. This hands-on apprenticeship program will provide you with invaluable experience in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles. You will have the opportunity to learn industry-leading techniques while working with the latest tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist experienced mechanics in performing routine maintenance and repairs on various types of vehicles.
  • Learn and perform diagnostics, brake systems, suspension repairs, engine services, and other general automotive repairs.
  • Perform tire changes, oil changes, fluid checks, and other essential maintenance tasks.
  • Follow instructions provided by the lead mechanic and shop manager to ensure tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Comply with safety protocols and workplace guidelines at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions via our NAPA Autocare Apprenticeship Program, to improve technical knowledge and skills.
  • Help with customer communication when needed, explaining basic services and repairs performed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • A strong interest in automotive repair and willingness to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and automotive systems is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from experienced staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various physical positions for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred).
  • Mostly importantly is to maintain a positive attitude with good attendance
