Position Title: Painter
Department: Field Operations
Reports To: Lead Painter / Foreman
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Location: Based in Central Illinois – Project-based travel required
Position Summary:
The Painter at Dixon Superior Painting & Epoxy Floors is responsible for delivering high-quality residential and commercial painting services. This includes all aspects of surface preparation, interior and exterior painting, and clean-up while ensuring workmanship meets company standards. Painters must be detail-oriented, dependable, and professional, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces (walls, ceilings, floors, etc.) by washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, filling holes/cracks, and masking as needed
- Apply paint, stain, or coatings using brushes, rollers, and sprayers
- Maintain a clean and organized job site from start to finish
- Follow directions from Foreman or Lead Painter regarding scope of work and specifications
- Assist in the setup and teardown of ladders, scaffolding, and drop cloths
- Properly load, transport, and clean tools and equipment
- Follow all safety protocols and use PPE appropriately
- Provide courteous and respectful communication with clients on job sites
- Complete tasks on schedule while maintaining quality standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 years of residential or commercial painting experience (willing to train the right candidate)
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
- Ability to work at heights and on ladders
- Must have reliable transportation to job sites
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
