Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such, forklifts, to handle recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload recyclable commodities using appropriate machinery, ensuring proper sorting and placement.
- Conduct cleaning tasks around the recycling facility to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met.
- Support the sorting process by identifying recyclable items and separating non-recyclables for proper disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of materials processed and equipment usage throughout your shift.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline recycling operations and improve overall efficiency.
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively in an active environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety awareness.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for record keeping and equipment maintenance.
- Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
