Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and IMS DB/DC
- Develop and support IMS online (DC) transactions and IMS database structures
- Perform IMS DB design, including PSB, DBD, and PCB definitions
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Debug and resolve production issues related to IMS DB/DC applications
- Perform impact analysis and implement changes with minimal risk
- Work with DB2, VSAM, and flat files as required
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system testing
- Coordinate with onsite/offshore teams and business stakeholders
- Follow SDLC, change management, and documentation standards
Required Skills:
- 8 years of hands-on Mainframe Development experience
- Strong expertise in IMS DB and IMS DC
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL
- Experience with IMS utilities (DFSUTIL, DBRC, etc.)
- Good knowledge of CICS or DB2 (preferred)
- Experience in batch and online application development
- Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
- Familiarity with scheduling tools and version control
