General Description:
Under the supervision of a licensed School Counselor and the building principal, a School Counselor Intern assists in planning and providing appropriate counseling services for students and creating an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth of all students.
Requirements:
Must be nearing completion of an approved school counselor master’s degree program. Candidates should complete their master’s program and be eligible for Virginia licensure with an endorsement in School Counselor Prek-12 by the start of the following school year. Must demonstrate the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community. Demonstrates strong communication and computer skills.
