INVESTIGATOR II - Hartford JD
Applications are being accepted for an Investigator 2 located at Hartford JD. This position conducts investigations in preparation and defense of matters related to criminal defense in a Judicial District Office and works under the direct supervision of a higher level Investigator or Public Defender.
Duties and Responsibilites:
Conducts investigations relating to criminal defense; interviews clients; may determine eligibility for public defender services; locates and interviews witnesses and victims and takes statements; reviews police, motor vehicle and criminal records; photographs crime and relevant scenes; obtains relevant documentation (police reports, medical records, toxicology report, etc.); prepares charts, diagrams and investigative reports; acts as a liaison with forensic witnesses; confers with legal staff regarding investigations; conducts investigation activities using specialized software programs; serves subpoenas; maintains liaison with variety of individuals and related agencies; aids incarcerated clients and their families regarding pre-trial programs, court appearances, etc.; may assist in providing on-the-job training to other investigators; may transport clients to proceedings; may present testimony on results of investigations; performs other related duties as required.
Special Requirements: Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a vehicle available for daily use.

Annual Starting Salary: $76,833.00 with full State benefits.
