Duties
- Provide peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders through one-on-one mentoring and group facilitation.
- Share personal recovery experiences to motivate clients and foster a sense of hope and empowerment.
- Assist clients in developing recovery plans, utilizing harm reduction strategies, motivational interviewing techniques, and client-centered communication.
- Conduct crisis management and intervention when necessary, ensuring safety and appropriate escalation to clinical staff.
- Support clients in navigating behavioral health services, including connecting them with community resources and treatment options.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy laws and organizational policies.
- Document client interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems and participate in team meetings for ongoing care coordination.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to provide crisis intervention and manage behavioral health crises effectively.
- Strong background in behavioral health, addiction counseling, social work, or related fields preferred.
- Experience working with culturally diverse communities to ensure inclusive and respectful support services.
- Skilled in mentoring, advocacy, and sharing personal recovery stories to inspire others.
- Knowledge of harm reduction principles, motivational interviewing techniques, and crisis management protocols.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and client record management is highly desirable.
