Online Study Hall and Flex Coordinator

The Online Study Hall Monitor will oversee and facilitate the virtual study hall sessions for students at Divine Savior Academy as well as running the Securly Flex program for intervention and club programming. The online study hall role will involve guiding students through their independent study time, ensuring they remain engaged, communicating with the online schools, and providing assistance where necessary in a supportive and Christian-centered environment. The flex portion of this position is maintaining and overseeing the Securly Flex platform which assigns students to academic interventions, extra curricular clubs, and study halls. The goal for both portions of this role is to create a productive, faith-filled learning space where students can work on assignments, prepare for exams, and develop strong academic habits.

Duties

• Supervise students in an online study hall environment, ensuring they are focused on their tasks

• Provide encouragement and support to students, helping them maintain a positive and productive attitude during study time

• Answer questions and offer academic guidance on assignments, projects, and study material when requested

• Direct students to appropriate resources (online tools, school documents, etc.) to aid in their studies

• Provide occasional tutoring support in specific subjects, if applicable

• Foster a Christ-centered atmosphere in all online interactions, modeling Christian values of kindness, patience, and respect

• Encourage students to approach their work with integrity and diligence as an expression of their faith

• Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and school staff regarding student progress or concerns

• Address any issues of student behavior or academic difficulties and escalate to the appropriate school personnel as needed

• Ensure that all students are using the virtual learning platform appropriately

• Assist students with technical issues or guide them on how to use digital tools and resources effectively

• Keep records of student attendance and participation in study hall sessions

• Provide periodic reports on students’ performance and engagement to relevant school staff

• Daily monitor the student and teacher requests via the Securly Flex platform

• Reconcile attendance records in the platform

• Work with the principal and deans to ensure smooth operation of the system while assessing and implementing improvements.

Requirements 

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred

• Previous experience in an educational or tutoring role, particularly in a virtual setting, is a plus

• Proficient in using online platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and maintain a positive, engaging, and disciplined study environment

• Patience, empathy, and a desire to help students succeed academically

• Exemplary Christian role model who lets his or her “light shine”

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while monitoring the online study hall

• Ability to manage a quiet, comfortable workspace free from distractions

• Ability to walk around the School Campus

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
