Cook- Assisted Living Facility

Job Overview

As a cook, you'll have the chance to create delicious meals that not only taste amazing but are served with care and warmth. This is a hands-on, full-service position where you'll bring joy to residents by preparing food with love and attention to detail. Whether it’s following a menu or customizing meals to individual preferences, you'll play a key role in brightening their day through great food!

Duties

• Review and prep meals based on our menu, with room to get creative based on resident preferences
• Meals to be prepared per menu or per resident preference in substitution
• Greet and welcome residents to the dining room, spreading positivity and ensuring they feel at home.
• Stay present during meal times to check in with residents, making sure everyone is happy and satisfied.
• Label's, dates, and stores food properly
• Keep the kitchen and dining areas sparkling clean and organized
• Makes recommendations to supervisor regarding improvements in recipes, menus, service of food, etc to enhance the quality of food service in facility
• Collaborate with direct care staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
• Be ready for other fun tasks that make a big difference in the kitchen and dining experience!

Qualifications

• Basic culinary skills and a passion for preparing a wide variety of delicious meals
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities in various settings.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others
