Direct Support Professional

Overview: We are seeking 3 compassionate, empathetic and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their well-being.

2PM-8PM M-F (VIRGINIA BEACH) IN HOME SUPPORTS

Duties - Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism - Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks - Aid in meal preparation and feeding as needed - Support clients in engaging in recreational activities - Administer first aid when necessary - Drive clients to appointments or outings - Offer companionship and emotional support - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the best care for clients- medication management when needed- monitoring individuals to remain free from falls and exploitation.

Experience: At least one year's experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities- background in personal care, , assistance, special education setting.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma- clean background and drivers record- CPR/ First Aid cert- TB test or screening- Willingness to complete state mandated DSP training or certification

Required Skills: - Working knowledge of supporting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities - Proficiency in direct support practices - Ability to provide first aid when needed - documentation- time management- behavioral support

Nice-to-Have Skills: - Experience in meal preparation for special dietary needs - Familiarity with dementia care protocols - medication management if needed- group home experience- group day supports experience

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
