Duties
- Support physical therapists by preparing treatment areas and assisting with patient setup for therapy sessions in the home setting
- Help with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and explaining treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment spaces
- Assist with documentation of patient activities, progress notes, and treatment records in compliance with healthcare standards
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions and ensuring a welcoming environment
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow within outpatient or inpatient settings
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively assist in therapy sessions
- Prior hospital or clinical experience, especially in acute care, inpatient, outpatient, or sub-acute care environments
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and those requiring post-acute care
- Demonstrated commitment to patient service and compassionate care delivery
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Familiarity with orthopedic or hospital medicine practices is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and support staff
