- Administer therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, orthotics interventions in occupational therapy, and specialized modalities.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively to facilitate rehabilitation processes.
- Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercises, and post-treatment care strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans.
- Document patient progress meticulously in electronic health records and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Stay current with advancements in physical therapy techniques, including dance therapy and geriatrics approaches, to enhance patient outcomes.
Skills
- Practicing in a physical therapy role with demonstrated experience across inpatient, outpatient, clinic, and sub-acute care settings.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and orthopedics to inform clinical decisions.
- Proficiency in medical equipment operation relevant to physical therapy procedures.
- Expertise in orthotics interventions in occupational therapy and hand therapy occupational practice for specialized rehabilitation needs.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics and individuals requiring post-acute or hospital medicine care.
- Familiarity with dance therapy techniques as part of holistic rehabilitation programs is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
