Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote proper nutrition
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to infection control protocols
- Support residents with memory care needs, dementia or Alzheimer’s care by implementing specialized techniques and engaging activities
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and facility policies
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required or must be obtained upon hire
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with patient care
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals, residents, and families
- Compassionate attitude with a dedication to providing respectful and dignified support to individuals with disabilities or health challenges
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or hospice care is advantageous
