What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reliability Technician position at DivIHN Integration Inc?
Title: Sr Reliability Technician
Location: On-site at San Jose, CA
Duration: 6 Months with possibilities of extension
Open to non-local candidates willing to relocate at their own expense
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Developing and/or executing experiment/test plans regarding product performance and reliability
• Optimising and/or maintaining tools and equipment in accordance with the needs of product development and testing
• Utilising manual dexterity to prepare and/or build specimens and device prototypes for testing
• Interfacing with the broader S&T organisation and business to generate and/or characterise specimens, to interpret or expand test results, and more
• Recording, logging and reporting out on observations and test data, and presenting associated conclusions and next steps to customers/stakeholders
• Working with others to identify needs and procure items, including samples, consumables, new test fixtures or equipment, etc.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
• Typically 40 hours per week
• 7 AM-4 PM or 8 AM-5 PM Monday through Friday
• Overtime may be required on certain occasions for critical workstreams
Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration - this is REQUIRED):
• A.A.S. / Two-Year Degree in Mechanical Technology or related field of study
Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)
• Mechanical aptitude in working with small powered and/or non-powered hand tools, as well as larger test/metrology equipment
• Tear-down and post-mortem characterisation experience, including practical use of optical and SEM microscopy.
• Experience working with glove-box and clean-room settings.
• Basic computer and data analysis/archiving skills, including familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Office, web-based work request systems, etc.
• The ability to maintain an accurate and thorough record of activities performed, including via a laboratory notebook
Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)
• Knowledge of mobile electronics construction, assembly and repair techniques, especially as pertains to mobile phones, tablets and PCs
• Exposure to general materials science concepts, including stress/strain behaviour, fracture mechanics, etc.
• Familiarity with and/or experience in conducting strain gaging, digital image correlation and/or other contact or non-contact stress analysis techniques

• Ability to work well in a team environment composed of various levels, functions and disciplines
• Ability to clearly communicate progress and results of work, as well as any problems, needs or roadblocks which are impeding progress towards objectives
