What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resort General Manager-St. Croix USVI position at Divi Carina Bay Resort?
We are looking for a leader at our resort in Saint Croix, US Virgin Islands with a passion for hospitality and customer service, a great coach that can mentor and develop a team to achieve excellent results, and an overall trendsetter that is willing to take our service and associates to the next level. This dynamic General Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the operation including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation and delivering a return on investment. Will lead team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies. Ensure implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages all financial matters of the company’s business operations in a fiduciary capacity, ensuring fiscally responsible Company financial operations at all times.
- Actively manages the financial statements and develops goal-oriented business plans to support the financial goals of the Resort and the Company, which includes creating accurate and aggressive long- and short-range financial objectives consistent with company’s mission.
- Communicates effectively with employees, guests, staff, union, and corporate executives.
- Works closely with corporate sales and marketing department to promote resort and create new programs in response to market conditions and revenue opportunities.
- Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests and assists in the maintenance of property emergency and security procedures.
- Directs the activities of the Resort Management team: Directing the efforts of the management staff to ensure quality customer service to guests at all times and smooth operations throughout Resort.
- Hiring, training, and leading the management team to ensure superior guest and associate satisfaction.
- Assessing and reviewing the job performance of management team and working closely with HR presence on Resort level to maintain personnel records.
- Monitoring the performance of each Resort department and ensuring maintenance of adequate standards of service and staffing levels.
- Assisting staff by aiding when needed, requiring performance of any position at any given time.
- Fully utilizes and follows through with guest comment programs responding quickly to deficiencies and taking corrective action.
- Maintains high personal visibility and professionalism throughout the property and maintains appropriate level of community public affairs involvement.
- Coordinates internal training and development programs.
- Maintains knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- 3-5 years of General Manager, Asst. General Manager, or Director of Operations Experience.
- 2-3 years of Management experience required
- Proficient in financial management and oversight
- Experience working in Caribbean Islands is required
- Experience working in the US Virgin Islands is strongly preferred
