Responsibility
Provide leadership is the key communicator for Collaborative Product and Process Development.
Responsible for interface with Suppliers and Purchasing to ensure early collaboration on design for Manufacturability, Assembly and Cost, as well as, adherence to APQP guidelines.
Leads a cross functional team to a solution that meets multiple objectives and balance performance, quality, velocity, and cost. Must have strong analytical skills and the ability to influence others when there is conflict in processes, objectives, or solutions.
This position needs to have the ability to see issues and forecast future costs so that costs are stable and predictable.
Accountable to identify and set current and future, target costs that are realistic and valid.
Carry out new supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to
define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process
capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering
trends that concern product quality
Contribute to continuous improvement activities
Provide technical expertise to customers/licensees in solving technical
problems associated with product supply and test facilities
Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients
Achieve goals within budget
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
Minimum of 5 years previous experience in development/quality
Ability to travel
Lean and Six Sigma tools or Certification preferred
Experienced in supplier evaluation and development, continuous quality improvement, and open issues management.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written).
Solid understanding of various manufacturing techniques.
Advanced interpersonal skills managing supplier relationships
Proficiency in project management skills with the ability to close initiatives on time.
