The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct supervision and support to youth in a residential setting. This role focuses on maintaining a safe and structured environment while implementing behavioral supports and assisting in daily routines and therapeutic programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and support to youth in care
- Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
- Conduct routine safety checks and observations
- Implement behavioral interventions and coping strategies
- Support daily routines, programming, and life skills development
- Communicate with clinical, educational, and supervisory staff
- Model positive behaviors and reinforce program expectations
- Complete documentation including progress notes and incident reports
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-acuity situations
- Experience working with children or adolescents
- Background in behavioral health, residential care, education, or childcare
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to obtain PA clearances (Act 33, Criminal History, FBI Act 73)
- Flexibility to work varying hours based on program needs, including on-call rotation
