We are seeking an Advanced Industrial Engineer to support multiple JIT automotive manufacturing plants by driving material flow improvements, labor optimization, and lean manufacturing initiatives. This role partners with plant Industrial Engineers to develop best practices, support new program launches, improve plant layouts, and implement standardized material handling processes across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support JIT manufacturing plants with material flow and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Develop and improve material flow from dock to point of use.
- Evaluate and implement strike zone workstation layouts.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to plant Industrial Engineers.
- Lead labor optimization using motion-based time studies and labor standards.
- Support new model launches and future manufacturing footprint planning.
- Maintain plant layouts, kitting process books, labor tools, and lean documentation.
- Train plant teams on material flow standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with Design for Assembly and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Travel to manufacturing plants to support continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
- 5 years of Industrial Engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Experience in JIT manufacturing, assembly operations, and material flow optimization.
- MODAPTS or equivalent time study certification required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, labor standards, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% to support manufacturing facilities.
