Draftsman / Drawing Detailer
Job description:
Primary responsibility is to prepare shop drawings for for a wide range of metal processing & fabrication projects from a diverse customer base ranging from structural to manufacturing. A successful candidate must have a good understanding of metal processing equipment and fabrication shop capabilities along with knowledge of flat layout and flat part generation. Candidate will work directly with Project Management as well as interacting directly and indirectly with customers in office as well as in the field. Must be able to “Reverse engineer”, field measure, create shop instructions, drawings, details and provide support to fabrication shop as required. This position offers possible advancement into project management, sales & estimating.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience
High school diploma or GED required
Metal product knowledge (ferrous and non-ferrous materials)
Knowledge of metal machining and processing tools, operations & procedures
Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings & contract drawings
Create drawings using AutoCad or Solidworks for submittals or shop use
Computer Proficiency is required, including Microsoft Office (Excel, WORD, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Work well in a team environment
Ability to work independently and have a good work ethic.
Valid driver’s license
