Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is seeking an experienced General Manager to join our Itasca, IL management team. This position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the success of our day-to-day production activities.
The General Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of plant operations to achieve company objectives in safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction and financial performance. This role requires a strategic, hands-on leader who can balance operational efficiency with a strong focus on people, process improvement and continuous growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of daily plant operations, including purchasing, scheduling, production, warehousing, shipping/receiving and quality assurance
- Manage plant performance in alignment with company goals for employee health & safety, quality, productivity, revenue growth and profitability
- Control labor and operating costs, ensuring financial objectives and budget targets are met
- Lead, develop and mentor department leaders and indirect reports to promote accountability, professional growth and continuous improvement
- Drive and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for cost control, efficiency, capacity utilization and quality performance
- Oversee maintenance of plant facilities and equipment, ensuring cost-effective operations and compliance with safety and company standards
- Foster collaboration across departments and locations to share best practices and achieve organizational goals
- Support positive relationships with customers and vendors, assisting with escalated issues and ensuring high levels of satisfaction
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit, evaluate and develop team members in alignment with company values and objectives
- Champion company vision, strategy and mission objectives, to promote a safe, inclusive and results-oriented work environment
- Other projects/duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in flexographic printing operations (digital printing experience is a plus)
- Minimum of 5 years management experience with proven leadership success
- Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate and develop teams for high performance
- Strong operational background, with expertise in strategic planning, execution and process improvement
- Highly skilled in critical thinking, decision making and problem solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and team members of all levels
- Proficient computer skills (ERP, Microsoft Suite, etc.)
