Key responsibilities
- Setup: Prepare and set up the printing press according to job specifications, which includes installing printing plates, rollers, and other components, as well as filling ink reservoirs.
- Operation: Operate the press to produce a variety of printed materials, loading substrates into the machine and making adjustments as needed.
- Quality control: Monitor the printing process to ensure colors, registration, and overall print quality meet job specifications. This involves performing visual inspections and using quality control equipment.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts, and troubleshoot problems like web breaks or poor print quality to keep the press running efficiently.
- Production management: Follow daily schedules and job orders, manage material waste, and move finished products to the next stage of production.
