Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes to ensure safe, repeatable, and cost-effective production. This role bridges engineering and the shop floor—turning designs into reliable production methods while driving continuous improvement in quality, throughput, and labor efficiency.
This is a hands-on role that requires regular presence on the shop floor and close collaboration with operators, quality, supply chain, and design engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Production Engineering
- Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, and standard work
- Create and optimize layouts, tooling, fixtures, and workholding to improve safety, ergonomics, and efficiency
- Support new product development(NPD) from prototype through full production
- Establish takt time, labor standards, and capacity models
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support Kaizen events, 5S initiatives, and waste reduction efforts
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, rework, and variation using Lean tools
- Analyze production data to drive improvements in OTD, yield, FTT, and throughput
Quality & Reliability
- Partner with Quality to address nonconformances, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective actions
- Ensure processes are capable, repeatable, and meet design and regulatory requirements
Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFA)
- Train operators and supervisors on new or updated processes
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, and labor standards in ERP/MRP systems
- Create visual work instructions, process maps, and control plans
- Support audits and compliance requirements as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role (metal fabrication, machining, assembly, or industrial equipment preferred)
- Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Comfortable working directly on the shop floor with hourly teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Familiarity with fixtures, tooling design, and CNC or fabrication processes
- Experience supporting mixed-model or engineer-to-order production environments

Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
