POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Wireline Apprentice supports plugging and abandonment operations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio while training under experienced Wireline Engineers. This entry-level role assists with wireline equipment preparation, rig-up operations, tool maintenance, documentation, and safe field execution while developing the technical skills required to become a Wireline Engineer.

Candidates should possess a mechanical aptitude, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. This position provides hands-on training in wireline equipment, explosives handling, regulatory compliance, and well-retirement operations, with opportunities for career growth in a safety-focused and environmentally responsible organization. Travel may be required, though overnight stays are infrequent.

Special focus will be placed on:

• Assist in preparing, inspecting, and maintaining wireline trucks, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Support safe rig-up and rig-down operations, including positioning equipment and installing wireline support systems such as sheaves, chains, and pack-offs.
• Learn the operation, function, maintenance, troubleshooting, and application of wireline tools and logging systems, including perforating, diagnostic, and recovery equipment.
• Inspect, clean, service, repair, and inventory wireline tools, explosives, expendables, and related equipment.
• Safely handle, store, transport, and use explosives in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Operate and assist with troubleshooting wireline truck systems, draw works, and Warrior wireline software to support efficient field operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and operational processes to maintain quality, efficiency, and reliability.
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors, engineers, rig personnel, and regulatory representatives while demonstrating professionalism at all times.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, transportation, and regulatory requirements; actively promote a strong safety culture and immediately report incidents, injuries, hazards, and near misses.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, complete required operational reports and documentation, and maintain accurate records.
• Complete assigned training, review company communications, and stay current on operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support wireline and company operations.
  
  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess at least a Class B CDL.
• Have or obtain within 6 months of hire an appropriate Blaster’s License.
• Within 6 months of hire, pass an ATF background check and receive Explosives Possessor’s License.
• Knowledge of local and state commercial driving regulations.
• Knowledge of and commitment to safety procedures and regulations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Willingness to work in various weather and well site conditions.
• Willingness to travel to remote well sites and work extended hours when necessary.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills/proficiency.
  
  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain)
• Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
• Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.
• Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work
• Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights
• Lifts or carries 116 lbs. or more, which falls into the "heavy" category (over 50 pounds).
• Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions. The position requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments, encompassing the essential physical requirements and efforts outline

Driver Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
• This position involves operating a company vehicle for work-related travel or receiving a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adherence to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies is required.
• Candidates must be eligible to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
