A successful candidate will have a good understanding of specialty gases, aerosol propellants, alternative fuels, NGL refrigerants, and foam blowing agents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understands and continuously works towards learning all production processes in order to assist in providing recommendations to operators to improve product quality.
- Operate and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation such as Gas Chromatography, Electronic Hygrometer, Titrator, Mercury analyzer, Sulfur analyzer, Titrator, Rateometric Colorimetry.
- Perform receiving, in-process, and finished analytical testing based on specifications and requirements for production and ensure product load meets specifications before releasing product for shipment.
- Document and report results accurately and timely to ensure continuity for the production of materials.
- Assists with documenting results of all testing procedures and promptly notifies operations and supervisors of required adjustments to operating procedures.
- Maintains retained samples of shipped products in order to confirm test results, if necessary.
- Maintains ongoing records of results and testing procedures by the use of SOP's.
- Assists with maintenance and calibration on all department equipment to ensure all instruments and operating accurately.
- Support the development and implementation of work processes that improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintains adequate lab supplies, reagents, equipment used for testing and lab operations.
- Assists with preparing chemical solutions and standards as needed.
- Display quality work through strong attention to detail.
- Maintains a clean and safe working area at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Degree/GED plus minimum 4 years of industrial experience required.
- 2 or 4-year Science related degree (preferred) with focus in Chemical, Analytical, or related field.
- Must stay motivated and show initiative to complete tasks under limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, good eye/hand coordination.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Excellent math, reading and writing comprehension skills.
- Good telephone communication skills.
- Complete all required safety training.
- Follow and display knowledge of all safety procedures.
- Comply with all applicable codes and regulations.
- Able to meet physical requirements and perform duties in working conditions described herein.
- Work overtime as necessary, including some weekends.
