Overview
We are a family-owned drywall construction company that has been proudly serving Colorado since 1978. We are seeking a proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to provide essential support across our operations, with a strong focus on accounting functions. Construction industry experience is a plus. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and organization in our day-to-day operations.
Duties
- Process and code vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices (three-way match)
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized AP files and records
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
- Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Support audits and provide documentation as needed
- Collect and maintain vendor W-9s and assist with year-end 1099 preparation
- Verify subcontractor certificates of insurance (COIs) and lien waivers are on file prior to releasing payment
- Process subcontractor invoices and confirm billing aligns with approved subcontract values and change orders
- Process and reconcile credit card and expense transactions with proper documentation and coding
Requirements
- 2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Construction industry experience, a PLUS
- Experience with Plexxis or similar construction accounting software, a PLUS
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of invoices and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills with vendors and internal teams
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
