Law Clerk
Location: Macon, GA
Diverse Staffing Services, Inc. dba DiverseGOV is seeking a qualified Law Clerk (Barred Attorney) to support a potential contract with the Department of Justice (DOJ) assigned to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO), Middle District of Georgia in Macon, GA. This full-time contract opportunity will support both criminal and civil divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support habeas corpus and immigration-related casework including docketing, calendaring, and drafting responses
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, PACER, and related tools
- Draft legal memoranda, correspondence, filings, and proposed judicial orders
- Analyze statutes, case law, and regulatory issues to support Assistant U.S. Attorneys
- Assist in managing case documentation and providing litigation support
Minimum Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- Active bar membership in any U.S. state
- Minimum 6 months post-J.D. experience
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms
