Role Overview:
The Stock Person supports the warehouse team at Rikers Island by unloading, organizing, and stocking merchandise and supplies according to operational guidelines. This role helps ensure the facility is well stocked and that inventory counts are accurate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload deliveries and move merchandise to appropriate storage areas
- Stock shelves and storage locations according to guidelines
- Assist with pricing, labeling, and organizing inventory
- Help maintain accurate stock counts and support basic inventory control
- Keep warehouse and storage areas clean, orderly, and safe
- Follow all facility, safety, and correctional environment protocols
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a stock, warehouse, or similar role
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes/supplies as needed
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work on-site at Rikers Island
- Basic communication and teamwork skills
