About the role:
We are seeking a motivated & entry-level Project Financial Analyst to join our dynamic construction finance team. This role is ideal for candidates looking to begin their career at the intersection of project planning, financial analysis, and cost management within the construction industry. You’ll play a key role in supporting project managers and construction teams to ensure budgetary control, cost transparency, and effective planning across diverse building projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in coordination with project managers and construction leads.
- Monitor actual project expenditures against budgeted amounts; track cost variances and provide detailed explanations for deviations. Work with construction team on weekly basis to monitor costs vs budget and implement mitigation plans for potential cost overruns.
- Prepare and maintain regular project financial reports including cost-to-complete forecasts, earned value reports, and variance analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with construction managers, superintendents, and field teams to gather real-time data, understand cost drivers, and validate work progress for financial tracking.
- Support review and validation of contractor invoices and subcontractor pay applications to ensure alignment with contract terms and budgeted costs.
- Maintain project cost files, financial models, and change order logs. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and audit-ready.
- Participate in process reviews and assist in implementing financial best practices to improve reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Familiarity with construction or project-based environments preferred
- Experience with financial or project management software, Sage Intacct is a plus
The pay range for this role is:
65,000 - 75,000 USD per year(Irving, TX)
