Retail Manager - ditto Upscale Resale
We are looking for a part-time store manager to work 2 full days, including evenings and rotating Saturdays
Position Overview:
The Retail Manager at ditto Upscale Resale plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the resale store. The focus is on achieving operational excellence, fostering a positive workplace culture in a Christ-centered environment, and ensuring the overall success and prosperity of ditto Upscale Resale.
Accountability:
Reports directly to the Store Director
Requirements:
- Commitment to ditto’s mission and values
- Full-Time or Part-time positions requiring flexibility to work some nights and weekends
- Previous retail or thrift store management experience preferred
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3 years of experience in retail operations with supervisory experience (preferred)
- Leadership skills and team-building abilities
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
- Ability to handle confrontation professionally and provide feedback or suggestions
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or Google Workspace and email communications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Physical capacity to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and moving furniture up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, climbing, reaching, handling and repetitive movements
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead by example, fostering a positive work environment
- Promote teamwork and maintain a servant's heart attitude
- Recruit, train, organize, and supervise Student Associates and Volunteers
- Coordinate scheduling to ensure proper coverage of the front of the store
- Conduct monthly 1:1 check-ins with Assistant Managers and Associates for feedback and goal setting
- Collaborate with assistant managers in the daily operations of the store
- Assist in running the register as needed
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for Student Associates
Service:
- Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers
- Support volunteers and other staff as needed
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously
- Ensure a clean and organized sales floor
Merchandising and Product Management:
- Oversee the receiving, cleaning, pricing, and placement of furniture
- Utilize guidelines for acceptable items and furniture
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to Backroom Managers
- Collaborate on merchandising strategies to maximize sales
Day to Day Implementation:
- Enforce store policies and procedures
- Lead daily devotions with volunteers and staff
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks, including daily sales reports and bank deposits
- Communicate policies to staff and volunteers
- Maintain the physical appearance of the store
- Order or request supplies as needed
Internal and External Communication:
- Regularly communicate with the Store Director on store-related issues
- Provide updates on store performance
- Collaborate on budgetary goals as requested
- Communicate effectively with other managers and volunteers
- Help plan weekly sales and promotions with input from others
Emergency Response:
- Act as a point of contact for store emergencies or escalations
- Collaborate on addressing issues with the Store Director and relevant committees
Work Schedule:
Full-time or Part-time. Monday to Saturday. Rotating Saturdays required. Attendance at specific meetings, on-site and off-site events, or training may be required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 per week
