Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, customer visits, and other business development activities.
  • Identify and acquire new customers for the company's international air freight, ocean freight, domestic transportation, customs brokerage, and other logistics services.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers by understanding their business, shipping requirements, and supply chain challenges.
  • Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews to identify opportunities and recommend appropriate logistics and supply chain solutions.
  • Prepare and coordinate RFQs, quotations, and pricing proposals, working closely with internal pricing and operations teams to provide competitive solutions while maintaining appropriate profit margins.
  • Develop customized transportation and logistics solutions based on customers' service requirements, cost objectives, routing needs, and supply chain priorities.
  • Actively follow up on quotations and sales opportunities, negotiate pricing and service terms, and work toward successfully converting opportunities into new business.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales, gross profit, and new business development targets.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships through additional trade lanes, transportation modes, and value-added logistics services.
  • Introduce cargo insurance and shipment protection solutions when appropriate based on customers' shipping needs and risk exposure.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, customer activity, quotation status, and account information in the company's systems.
  • Work closely with Client Solutions, Operations, and Management to ensure a smooth transition of newly acquired accounts and a high level of ongoing customer service.
  • Monitor account performance, customer activity, and profitability after onboarding and address commercial issues when necessary.
  • Stay informed of freight market conditions, carrier capacity, pricing trends, trade developments, and other factors that may affect customers' supply chains.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, transportation sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven ability or strong interest in business development, new customer acquisition, and relationship-based sales.
  • Working knowledge of air freight, ocean freight, domestic transportation, customs brokerage, and international logistics processes.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and develop practical, competitive, and profitable logistics solutions.
  • Strong understanding of freight pricing, transportation costs, and gross profit management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable conducting customer meetings, presentations, networking, and in-person business development activities.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to independently manage a sales pipeline and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects, quotations, and customer priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to build credibility and develop long-term relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and other logistics customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams to develop solutions for complex or time-sensitive customer requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; experience with CRM or freight forwarding systems is preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for customer meetings and business development activities.

Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
