General Description:
The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a Van Monitor to assist the van driver with transporting students with various special needs to and from school on an AM and PM basis. A Van Monitor’s main function is to observe the students inside the vehicle and ensure that all safety measures are being met during the duration of the trip. The Monitor will be paid for 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon when school is in session.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and sanitize vehicle between runs
- Operate vehicle in accordance with all Federal and State traffic laws
- Complete weekly documentation and record keeping as required by the district
- Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly in with students, parents, teachers, and staff
- Must enjoy working with children, and always possess the ability to show patience and empathy
- Experience operating a van for students or adults with special needs
- Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
