Position Overview:
Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services that help students participate fully in their educational programs. The OT will collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support students’ functional skills and learning. This position has a start date on January 5, 2026.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Direct Service & Evaluation

Provide OT services to students with disabilities, as outlined in IEPs.

Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations of fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-regulation, and functional school participation.

Participate in IEP meetings and write clear evaluation reports and service recommendations.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that enhance students’ functional skills within the school environment.
Collaboration & Consultation

Consult with teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support students’ access to curriculum and daily routines.

Provide recommendations regarding accommodations, modifications, and adaptive equipment.

Support classroom teams in implementing strategies related to sensory regulation, fine motor development, and executive functioning.
Documenation & Compliance

Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and evaluations.

Ensure compliance with all IDEA, Section 504, and district policies.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and Student Support Team processes as needed.
Professional Practice
-
Provide training or coaching to staff on OT-related topics, as assigned.

Stay current in best practices through ongoing professional development.

Contribute to a positive school climate and uphold district values of inclusion, equity, and collaboration.
Compensation
- Based on Degree/credits and experience per WEA contract Salary Schedule
Salary : $65,605 - $115,283
