JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:            Volunteer

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character.
2. Have good interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
3. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skill
4. Provide required criminal history background checks before working with students.

REPORTS TO:        As assigned by the Superintendent

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Volunteers will promote high standards and expectations for all staff for excellent performance, demonstrate positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.

1. Volunteers will notify and assist the certificated staff, building administration, and appropriate emergency personnel of any emergency, and potentially dangerous or unusual situations, following District policy and regulations.

1. All volunteers must provide the required criminal history background check by the Office of Student Protection in accordance with N.J.S.A., Section: 18A:6-7.1: “Criminal record check in public school employment, or volunteer service.” The District will compensate each volunteer to cover the cost of the fingerprints.

1. All volunteers will adhere to New Jersey school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies and regulations, and contractual obligations.

1. Volunteers will perform other tasks and assume responsibilities as the Superintendent, or his designee may assign from time to time and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulations.

1. Volunteers must report incidents of abuse and neglect to the school principal and to the Division of Child and Protective Services at 1-877-652-2873.

1. Volunteers will abide by the District dress code standards, specifically Policy 4119 CONDUCT AND DRESS.
