Substitute Paraeducator
(Daily, as needed)
Hingham Public Schools is seeking candidates to fill substitute paraeducator positions at all levels (prek-12). All substitute postions are on an "as needed" basis. These positions offer flexibile scheduling. Primary responsibility of the Substitute Paraeducator is to assist teachers by supporting students and helping with classroom managment, particularly when the regular paraeducator is absent.
Responsibilities
- Providing individualiaed attention to student, reinforcing lessons, and helping them understand class material
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, supervising students during various activities (i.e., recess, lunch, during transitions) and potentially intervening to redirect inappropriate behavior
- Help with taking attendance, preparing materials, implementing lessons, communicating with teacher about student progress or concerns
- Under the direction of the teacher or school staff, may assist in providing asistance with daily living activities for students with disability
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency, required
- Experience working with students in educational setting
