What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Special Education position at District?
The Assistant Special Education Director will assist the Director of Special Education in managing special education programs, ensuring legal compliance, and supervising support staff.
Coordinate and oversee all Early Childhood/Preschool services/programs, including team meetings, curriculum meetings, and evaluation of staff
Oversight of the Early Intervention, including home visits and tracking
Oversight of the district’s Out of District students
Oversight of School Counselors, including monthly meetings and programs
Home/hospital program coordinator
Assist in Medicaid billing implementation and planning
Assist in oversight of the Specialized Programs in the district
Manage complex and challenging cases by maintaining effective contact with parents, staff, advocates, and other involved parties
Ensure IEPs are written to reflect best practice, meeting all regulatory and district standards
Assists in data collection, analysis, and completion of state and federal forms regarding all special education service programs
Ensure that the district fulfills its obligations in compliance with the federal and state regulations governing Special Education
Assist in fiscal management of all special services programs
Assist the Special Education Director in maintaining appropriate records, attending meetings as necessary
Perform other duties as may be required
