DESCRIPTION
The Supervisor of ESL and Bilingual Education (K-12) shall provide supervision for Franklin Township Public Schools’ NJDOE Model Program, consistent with educational goals and objectives of the district, to plan and develop curriculum, instruction, assessments, program supervision, budgets and evaluation of instructional staff. A major function of this position is acting as a resource to teachers and building administration. The supervisor of ESL and Bilingual Education (K-12) will collaborate with building administration to meet the district’s school improvement efforts and program requirements; assist with the supervision and evaluation of assigned content area teachers; and collaborate with the district-wide development of the content area program. The Supervisor of ESL and Bilingual Education (K-12) shall promote the success of all students by understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context. The Supervisor of ESL and Bilingual Education (K-12) will act ethically while supporting principals in the effective management of the organization, including its operations and resources, for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- New Jersey administrative certification appropriate for holding the position of Supervisor of ESL and Bilingual Education.
- New Jersey administrative certification as a supervisor or principal.
- Master’s Degree appropriate to discipline.
- Effective management, problem-solving, organizational, human relations, and written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively and effectively with staff, students, parents, and other school district constituencies.
- Ability to analyze a situation accurately, and adopt and implement an effective course of action.
- Documentation of continuous, multi-year, successful teaching experience.
- Documentation of three consecutive satisfactory annual performance reviews.
- Successful educational supervisory experience preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
