What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Grounds Maintenance Worker position at District Wide?
The Nixon-Smiley CISD is accepting applications for a Temporary Grounds Maintenance Worker. The Grounds Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the district's grounds. Must maintain grounds and all equipment to ensure full educational use at all times. The maintenance department is responsible for providing students a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.
Job Requirements:
In addition to the routine and regular maintenance of district grounds, the maintenance worker is also responsible for reporting and repairing or facilitating the repair of any malfunction of school equipment when observed.
In addition, the maintenance worker must assist in the performance of maintenance work such as mowing, trimming, general grounds keeping duties, and all other necessary duties as assigned or needed. Must practice good safety habits on the job.
This position requires a self-starter whose initiative is only eclipsed by his/her knowledge of grounds and building maintenance.

3. Provide proof of Identity (Driver's Lic, Birth Certificate, Passport, or other Federal Documents)
4. If required, submit to a fingerprint-based background check.
Included in the electronic application:
- A notice to comply with the requirement for a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) review via the "DPS FACT" database (included during the enrollment process) per Texas Government Code Sec. 411.097.
- An "Affidavit of Applicant Offered Employment" (included in the application process) must be completed and notarized before a candidate is offered a professional position at N-S CISD. A notary public is available in the Human Resources office for candidates who are recommended for employment. This pre-employment requirement complies with TEC 21.009 and local policy.
