What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Discovery 2026 - Middle School Coordinators position at District Wide?
Dates: June 15-26, July 6 - 31 (No sessions the week of June 29th)
Days: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (additional hours may be required for set up)
Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (additional hours may be required for set up)
Pay Rate: $50.00 per hour
Summer School Coordinator Description and Duties
The Summer School Coordinator reports to the Secondary Directors and is responsible for the supervision of the Middle School Summer School Program.
The Summer School Coordinator’s duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates program offerings with elementary/secondary school administration.
- Attends pre-planning meetings with administration as needed
- Assists with student enrollment/registration
- Assists with the scheduling of transportation
- Data collection (attendance, pre/post assessments)
- Organizing curriculum and supplies for staff
- Supporting staff planning (lesson planning, newsletters etc.)
- Effectively communicate with staff, administrators, and parents
- Work collaboratively with students, staff, administrators, parents and community.
- Knowledge of academic assessments being used
- Reports on program success at the conclusion of the program.
- Know, interpret and follow school policy
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents and community.
- Maintain professional composure while dealing with a variety of personalities and situations.
- Show initiative and function as a self-starter.
Minimum Qualification
- Must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
