Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Valid Registered Nurse License issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Valid Registered First Aid Certification, CPR Certification, AED Certification
Position Details/Skills Required:
- Serve as a substitute School Nurse, providing healthcare services and support to students in the absence of the regular School Nurse.
- Administer first aid and provide immediate medical care to students in case of injuries, illnesses, or emergencies that occur during school hours.
- Monitor and assess student health conditions, including chronic illnesses and medication administration, ensuring compliance with individual health plans and medical protocols.
- Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and maintain accurate health records for students.
- Provide support during field trips and school events, ensuring the availability of necessary medical care and assistance.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive medical information.
- Ability to assess, evaluate, and respond to student health concerns in a calm and effective manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with students, parents, and school staff.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and organized health records and documentation.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school settings and collaborate with diverse populations.
