What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Teacher - Fall Semester 2026 position at District Wide?
Guidelines for Program Directors, Supervisors, and Coordinators:
Gonzales ISD is pleased to collaborate with local Universities and Alternative Certification Programs to offer student teachers opportunities for learning and observation. It is essential that all student teachers receive pre-approval before their initial day at any of our campuses. Please review the following information and instructions.
- The Student Teacher must fill out and submit the Student Teacher 26-27 SY application, which will also trigger the background check and fingerprinting process.
- After the application is received, the HR Secretary will reach out to the Student Teacher to provide a fast pass necessary for fingerprinting (you cannot commence your assignment until fingerprinting is completed).
- Program Directors, Supervisors, and Coordinators should contact Tessa Cain at tessa.cain@gonzalesisd.net with your placement requests and requirements.
- Once steps 1-3 are finalized, GISD Human Resources will inform the Student Teacher and Program Directors, Supervisors, and Coordinators of placements as soon as they are confirmed.
- Subsequently, the Student Teacher will receive an email from Tessa Cain regarding their mandatory Student Teacher Orientation in August (for fall semester placements) or December (for spring semester placements).
Application deadlines for placement requests:
Fall Semester 2026: June 30, 2026
Spring Semester 2027: October 31, 2027
