What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Marshal position at District Wide?
Purpose:
The sole purpose of a School Marshal is to prevent the act of murder or serious bodily injury on school premises, and act only as defined by the written regulations adopted by the School Board/Governing Body.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Clear and valid Texas driver's license
License to Carry Firearm Permit
Ability to obtain L3 Psychological Clearance (before employment)
Ability to obtain Texas School Marshal Certification
Duties & Responsibilities:
Providing safety and security to students, staff and visitors at Palestine ISD campuses and functions.
Monitoring all campus safety protocols and assure that staff and students are following Palestine ISD policy.
Completing other duties as assigned.
Have ability to pass a drug test.
Will complete any additional trainings as assigned for school safety/handgun training.
Salary: Based on experience in Law Enforcement or safety related positions.
Assignment: Full time 187 days of duty
