What are the responsibilities and job description for the PARAPROFESSIONAL LEAD - INTERNAL ONLY position at District Wide?
OPEN POSITION: PARAPROFESSIONAL LEAD - ELEMENTARY & SECONDARY
START DATE: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
RATE of PAY: Stipend - $2000 - complete building lead
$1000 - shared building lead duties
TERM: Paraprofessional Building Leads will be on a rotation schedule with a term of 1 to 3 years based on the building's schedule and staffing.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Support paraprofessionals in the development of knowledge, skill and abilities needed to meet the needs of students.
- Provide training and feedback with instructional and behavioral strategies to support students.
- Provide timely and accurate updates, communication and overall guidance to paraprofessional
- Attend early out Wednesday professional development and support building paras with learned information
- Onboard new paraprofessionals
- Serve as a positive, encouraging role model
- Support administration with coordinating Paraprofessional substitutes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to build trusting and professional relationships with adults
- Remain calm and positive when handling challenging situations
- Maintain confidentiality
- Employed with the District for more than 2 years
- Attended paraprofessional early out Wednesday professional development for at least 1 year
- Well organized
- Self - starter
- Flexible thinking
- Problem Solver
