Job Title: Emergent Bilingual Facilitator Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Federal Programs Director
Dept./School: Special Programs
Primary Purpose:
Provide supplemental in-class and pull-out support for ESL students. Collaborate with district staff and outside personnel to provide educational opportunities for ESL students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsement in ESL
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to interpret data
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Knowledge of strategies and materials for the education of ESL/EB students
Knowledge of Texas Teachers Evaluation Support System (T-TESS)
Knowledge of LPAC
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Bilingual Preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Provide support for ESL students through pull-out and in-class interventions.
- Support teachers and campus administration in developming, revising, and aligning student coursework, including accommodations in ways that improve student outcomes with campus and district goals.
- Develop and conduct or arrange for staff development sessions, including sessions on various instruction methods, and enriched learning in classroom settings.
4. Complies and submits a variety of weekly, monthly and year-end reports as required.
- Work with administration and ESL team in evaluation of the ESL program and implement changes based on the findings.
6. Provide guidance/assistance to campus LPAC committes and assist with the identification of new Emergent Bilingual Students.
Consultation
- Provide resources and materials to support staff in accomplishing program
- Consult with parents, administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies, and other relevant individuals regarding ESL
Budget and Inventory
- Assist with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies for the ESL program.
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
