Position: ELD Teacher Representative (4 Positions Available)
Location: One representative from each Elementary School (Grades 1-5)
Stipend: $40.00/hour (Contractual Rate)
Total Hours: 8 Hours
Role Overview
The District is seeking four (4) dedicated Elementary ELD teachers to serve on a high-impact Curriculum Selection Committee. We are prioritizing the adoption of a specialized, supplemental curriculum designed specifically for our Level 1 (Entering) and Level 2 (Emerging) students.
Our goal is to evaluate, score, and select two modern programs for a pilot phase at two elementary schools to ensure our newest learners have the high-scaffolded resources they need to succeed.
Responsibilities

Represent your school’s unique needs and student profile in district-level decisions.

Evaluate 3–4 specialized newcomer curricula using a standardized rubric.

Participate in "deep-dive" sessions with digital trial access and physical samples.

Collaborate to design the pilot implementation plan and grant "Statement of Need."
Commitment & Schedule

Total Time: 8 hours (inclusive of 4 hours of synchronous meetings and 4 hours of asynchronous material review/rubric scoring).

Meeting Dates: Once the team is selected, we will coordinate a recurring 1-hour weekly meeting time that best accommodates the whole group.

Grade Level Diversity: To ensure a comprehensive view, we are looking for a mix of lower-elementary (1-2) and upper-elementary (3-5) perspectives.
Qualifications

Current ELD Teacher at one of the four elementary buildings.

Experience working with Level 1/2 "Newcomer" populations.

Interest in curriculum leadership and grant-funded instructional design.
