Primary Purpose:

The District Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, assessment, professional learning, and instructional systems across the district. This position works collaboratively with campus and district leadership to ensure curriculum documents, assessment processes, instructional resources, and data systems are accurate, aligned, and effectively managed to support student achievement.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree from accredited university preferred
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Valid administrator or instructional leadership certification preferred

 

Special Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of curriculum design, scope and sequence, standards alignment, and instructional best practices
  • Knowledge of state and local assessment systems and accountability requirements
  • Strong ability to analyze, organize, and present student performance and program data
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and districtwide processes
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with district leaders, campus administrators, teachers, and support staff
  • Skill in maintaining accurate records, documentation, and system processes
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, dashboards, student information systems, and instructional platforms

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Experience in curriculum development, instructional coaching, assessment coordination, or district-level instructional support preferred
  • Experience working with data systems, assessment platforms, and professional development tracking systems preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Curriculum and Documentation

  1. Update and maintain district curriculum documents to ensure alignment with state standards, district priorities, and instructional expectations.
  2. Manage curriculum documentation, including scope and sequence guides, pacing resources, instructional frameworks, and related materials.
  3. Ensure curriculum files, templates, and shared resources are organized, current, and accessible to district and campus staff.
  4. Collaborate with district and campus leaders to revise curriculum documents based on instructional needs, assessment results, and state updates.
  5. Support documentation processes related to curriculum adoption, revision cycles, and program implementation.

Assessment and Data Support

  1. Coordinate assessment setup, including timelines, test configuration, communication, and system readiness.
  1. Prepare and distribute data reports for district and campus leadership to support instructional decision-making.
  2. Manage and maintain data dashboards used to monitor student performance, assessment trends, and key instructional indicators.
  3. Help ensure assessment processes and reporting practices are accurate, timely, and aligned with district expectations.

Professional Development Operations

  1. Coordinate professional development logistics, including scheduling, registration, materials preparation, communication, sign-in processes, and session support.
  2. Maintain professional development systems and tracking records for attendance, completion, and compliance.
  3. Support the organization and documentation of district training sessions, workshops, and instructional learning opportunities.
  4. Prepare reports related to professional development participation and completion for district leaders.
  5. Assist with continuous improvement of district professional learning systems and processes.

Instructional Support

  1. Provide testing support for district and campus assessment administrations, including coordination, communication, troubleshooting, and follow-up.
  2. Coordinate instructional materials, ensuring campuses and departments have access to needed resources, documents, and instructional supports.
  3. Assist with planning and implementation of instructional initiatives aligned to district goals.
  4. Support campus and district staff with curriculum tools, instructional systems, and related processes.
  5. Monitor attendance and chronic absenteeism data to support district efforts in improving student engagement and academic success.
  6. Prepare attendance-related reports and communicate trends to leadership for planning and intervention purposes.

Collaboration and Communication

  1. Work collaboratively with curriculum and instruction staff, district administration, campus administrators, teachers, and other departments.
  2. Communicate clearly and consistently regarding timelines, processes, updates, and required actions.
  3. Provide customer-service-oriented support to campus and district staff.
  4. Participate in district meetings, committees, and planning sessions as assigned.

Other

  1. Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and district information.
  2. Comply with district policies, administrative regulations, and state and federal requirements.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Salary: Pay Grade 3: $72,000-$97,200, commensurate with experience
