Concession Stand Attendant
Purpose Statement
The role of concession stand attendant’s duties may include food preparation, selling food and drinks, collecting money and tendering change, cleaning and assisting with inventory.
Job Title: Concession Stand Attendant
Hourly Wage: $14.00/hour
Reports To: Activity Directors
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must utilize excellent customer service skills
- Ability to count money
- Must be able to multitask and be self-motivated
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays and special events.
Essential Functions
- Ability to provide excellent guest service while working in a very fast-paced environment.
- Serve food, beverages, or desserts to customers in a very fast-paced environment.
- Proper cash handling including, greet and service guests at the registers, taking orders, and accepting payments, handling cash, debit and credit cards.
- Replenish foods at serving stations.
- Prepare food such as popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, and other food items using standard formulas or following directions.
- Prepare bills for food, using cash registers, calculators, or adding machines; and accept payment and make change.
- Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment, and clean dishes and fountain equipment
- Inventory control: Assess inventory and assist in preparing product orders as necessary.
- Stock and restock items as necessary Insure all sanitation procedures are followed relating to all local licensing regulations
Other Functions
- Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as assigned.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work without close supervision.
- Demonstrate integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Is respectful and appropriately interacts with staff, students, and visitors.
- Uphold and adhere to safety rules and policies of the Ankeny Community School District safety program.
- Support the goals and objectives of the school district and follow all district policies.
- Demonstrate the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

The usual and customary methods of performing the position functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing and walking. Working conditions may include extreme temperatures and humidity. Hazards may include exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires one to maintain emotional control under stress. Successful candidates are subject to post-offer pre-employment physical.
