Job Description:
Responsible for performing mechanical repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of district vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school district in a positive manner at all times.
Have advanced knowledge in all mechanical aspects pertaining to any and all district vehicles and machinery.
Be responsible for overseeing all work done on district vehicles.
Be responsible for purchasing parts kept in stock and those needed for repairs.
Maintain accurate, updated records of preventative maintenance.
Be responsible for completing all vehicle inspections and paperwork.
Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
Be responsible for forwarding to supervisor daily work order, service work forms of completed work, and service done on all vehicles.
Assist the supervisor in assessing the general condition of all district vehicles for recommendation of replacement.
Attend mechanic workshops as recommended by the supervisor.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Advanced mechanical knowledge and valid CDL Class A license with passenger and air brake endorsement; supervisor experience. Maintain a valid CDL Class A license with passenger and air brake endorsement.
