This position is typically Monday - Friday from 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m. but will vary on days needed to substitute as a Bus Driver. Driving shift starts at 5:00a.m.

TITLE: Administrative Assistant III, Maintenance & Transportation
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 1.0 FTE/12-months
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Classified
GENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is designed to play an integral part in ensuring the smooth operation of transportation, maintenance, custodial and grounds division, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Keeps individual and department calendars, as assigned.
- Serve as substitute bus driver as needed.
- Maintains both general and confidential files.
- Reviews and totals the district level time cards.
- Assists with purchasing and maintaining supplies inventory.
- Prepares requisitions and maintains department level accounts.
- Assists the Director of Facilities, Transportation & Energy, Transportation Supervisor and Dispatcher with their needs for coverage of regular routes, special needs and extra-curricular activities routes.
- Assists the Director of Facilities, Transportation & Energy, Transportation Supervisor and Dispatcher in the preparation of complicated reports to track resources and student transportation data.
- May assist in the coordination of work orders and tracking all maintenance activities.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:
Medium risk - Work is routinely performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to noise and being on your feet for extended periods of time. Requires standing in inclement weather including summer heat.

The applicant for this position is required to:

SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Standard office machines, computer software expertise, and keyboard skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience in an office environment.
- Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License, School Bus and Passenger Endorsement, School Bus Certification, CPR and First Aid.
- One year experience in school transportation and/or maintenance preferred.
- Valid AZ Dept of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must be able to push, pull, or lift, up to 50 pounds
- Pass the DPS physical performance test.
- Pass a DOT Physical exam, drug screen and alcohol test
- Ability to communicate and work well with staff, students, and parents.

Public Contact: Interact primarily with public, staff and parents.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE:
The evaluation is done by the Transportation Supervisor with input from the Director Facilities, Transportation & Energy, in accordance with provisions specified in governing board policy.
POSITIONS SUPERVISION:
The Administrative Assistant III, Maintenance & Transportation, reports directly to the Transportation Supervisor.
